JIFFY BROKEN WHEAT UPMA

INGREDIENTS: Broken wheat rava - 1cup
                            Gingely oil - 2tsp
                             Channa dal - 1tsp
                            Urad dal - 1/2tsp
                             Dry red chillies - 4
                             Mustard seeds - 1/4tsp
                             Curry leaves

METHOD:

1. Take a kadai add oil and heat it.
2. Now add mustard seeds and let them crackle.
3. Add channa dal, urad dal,curry leaves and dry red chillies.
4. Saute them well till golden brown.
5. Take 1 cup broken wheat rava and keep aside.


6. After the dal becomes brown add 2glasses of water.


7. Add salt and let it boil nicely.


8. Now add rava.

9. Close the lid and let it cook in sim.


10. This process takes just 4mins.


and serve hot..........................................with mango pickle.

BASIC INDIAN GRAVY

INGREDIENTS: Onions - 8
                              Tomatoes - 8
                              Gingergarlic - 2 tbsp
                              Salt - 1tbsp
                              Redchilli powder - 2tbsp
                              Oil - 5tbsp
                              Turmeric - 1/2tsp

METHOD: Chop onions finely.
Grind  tomatoes into fine paste.
Take a kadai add 4tbsp oil and heat it.
Add onions and fry them well till golden brown colour.
Add 1tbsp salt,turmeric.
After the onions turn golden brown add gingergarlic paste and fry nicely until the raw smell disappears.
Add tomato paste and mix well.
Fry nicely until the oil comes out from the gravy.
Add redchilli powder.
Fry them nicely till 10mins.
The raw smell should disappear  from the gravy and oil comes out.
Off the stove and remove the kadai from the stove
Let it cool well and then you can store in airtight container in fridge.
This gravy lasts for more than a week.

NOTE: Should not add water to this gravy when your planning to stock it for a week.
             Use dry spoon for taking the gravy whenever you need.
              Keep it immediately in the fridge  after use.


This is the basic indian gravy used to make any type of dish.
And very useful for working women.

Iam just telling you the method how to use this gravy
If you are planning to make potato curry.
Cut potatoes into cubes.
Keep a kadai add 2tbsp of basic indian gravy let it fry  little than add the potato cubes little water and let it boil in sim untill potatoes are cooked.
Finally add garam masala and garnish it with  fresh coriander leaves..............................
The same method you can follow with any vegetables.
