Pesarapapu / moong dal – 1cup
Water – 2 cups                                    
Haldhi – 1/4 tsp
Oil - 1 tbsp
Hing - pinch
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Ginger – 1/2″ pc., finely chopped
Curry Leaves - few
Green Chili – 4 slit
Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp or to taste
Coriander - for garnish


1.Wash the Mung Daal and put it in a pressure cooker adding water(1:2)  and allow it to soak for 15mins.

2.Add , Salt, haldhi .

3.  And cook until two whistle .
4. Switch off the gas and remove from the stove immediatly and let it cool down for sometime.
5. Now open the lid of pressure cooker and mix the dal once nicely.

6.  Heat Oil in a small skillet.

7. Once the Oil is hot, add the Mustard Seeds and allow them to pop.

8. Add jeera seeds and allow them to sizzle.

9. Add the Curry Leaves.

10. Add a pinch of hing.

11. Then add in the chopped ginger, slit green chillies .

12. Saute for a min.
13. And add it into the Daal.

14. Mix the dal nicely.
15. Add Lemon Juice and chopped coriander leaves  mix well .

16. Serve hot with hot plain rice or phulka..................................
