Onions - 1big size chopped finely
Green chillies - 2 slits
Tomatoes - 1big chopped finely
Ginger garlic paste - 2tsp
Daneya powder - 1tsp
Jeera powder - 1tsp
Salt
Chilli powder - 1tbsp
Garam masala - 1/2tsp
Fresh coriander leaves - 1tbsp finely chopped
Oil
METHOD:
1. Chop onions , green chillies and tomatoes finely.
2. Grind ginger garlic to a fine paste.
3. Keep cooker on gas add oil and heat it.
4. Now add chopped onions and green chillies.
5. Saute well till onion turns transparent .
6. Now add ginger garlic paste.
7. Fry nicely until the raw smell disappears.
8. Now add haldi, salt, and chopped tomatoes.
9. Saute well until the oil comes out.
10. Now add chilli powder and mix well.
11. Then add the channa dal and mix well.
12. Add water and let it boil.
13. As this is dal allow it to pressure cook for 4whistles.
14. Add chopped fresh coriander leaves and garam masala..............
goes very good with hot rice or kerala dish puttu......................
we had this with puttu for dinner......
